Wanted to send a follow up letter commending you, your rehabilitation program, and especially Julie Raines, who I felt did an excellent job of working with me on accomplishing very positive results in a short length of time.  Counting the time with St. Joe Light and Power, Aquila and currently, KCP&L, I have been active in utility line work for over 42 years.  I have had multiple orthopedic injuries, operations and recovery therapy in St. Joe, Maryville and now Savannah.  I rank Julie and the therapy department tops anywhere.  She not only possesses the knowledge and skills, but is tremendously supportive and encouraging.

You are very blessed to have her on your staff, and with the little time I had to observe and visit with the other therapists; I rank them as a top notch team.  My wife, Peggy worked as a LPN charge nurse for many years and just retired last September, I easily see why she was always so positive about the environment and proficiency at LaVerna Village.  I am so glad she mentioned doing therapy there.  Your new therapy department addition was money well spent.  Thanks again for a very positive recovery.

A Special Thank You to the Village People
We wish to express our great appreciation and thanks to all of you for taking such good care of Mom during her stay at the Village.
To the office and administration staff, thanks for making sure that the intake process and the business and financial part of Mom's admission and stay went so smoothly. A special thanks to Beth for always having a smile and a response to any inquiry.
To the kitchen staff, thanks for trying your best to find things that Mom would eat and making sure that those items (as few as they were) were always available to her. She always appreciated the extra attention you gave to her whether it was in the dining room or as you passed her in the hall.
To the maintenance and house cleaning staff, thanks for taking the time to visit with Mom as you went about your jobs. Of course, Mom had a way to get your attention as you passed - she had no problem reaching out to touch you.
To the nursing staff, thanks for keeping a close eye on Mom and making sure that she received the best care possible and knowing that the approach to her care was very important. She enjoyed your soft touch and gentle care although sometimes it might not have seemed like it. A special thanks to Barb, Rosanne and Angie for their care and concern, especially during Mom's last days.
To the CNA's, thanks for understanding that Mom appreciated everything you did for her even though sometimes she didn't want you to be doing it at the time. She came to know you all and responded to your touch and caring. A special thank you to Dixie for her special relationship with Mom (including their secret wave) and to Charlie (and all of the others) who gave Mom her shower and tried to make it as easy for her as possible.
To the activity staff, thanks for taking time to get Mom involved in as many of the activities as possible. She really enjoyed the music programs, but it was probably the activities where she got to throw or hit something that really got her going.
To Sister Elaine and all of the other Sisters, thanks for your gentle caring and comfort during Mom's stay and the support that you gave to Irene during the good and bad times.
To the restorative staff, thanks for getting Mom up and moving as often as you did. It was not an easy thing to do when she didn't want to walk.
To the laundry staff, thanks for taking care of Mom's clothing as you did and getting out the Ensure which she inadvertently (or, maybe on purpose ) spilled so many times. Thanks also for taking the time to interact with Mom as you went about your work.
Mom enjoyed cruising the halls and greeting anyone and everyone she met. She enjoyed sitting at the nurses' station and watching all of the comings and goings and, of course, instigating mischief if she could.
It is difficult to know all of the acts of kindness Mom received during her stay with you but she was happy, healthy active and enjoyed her time with you.
Thanks to each and every one of you for your caring, time and kindness - it will always be remembered.
